Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Caitlin Crosbie is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

ST1 Registrar

Dr Klym is currently in practice until August 2024 as our GP registrar.

Dr. DANIEL ADE-ONOJOBI

ST3 Registrar

Dr Ade-Onojobi will be returning to practice as a final year registrar in August 2024.

Foundation Year Doctor

We currently have  a foundation year doctor in the practice.

Practice Manager

Mrs Wendy Howat has been the Practice Manager since 2000.

Practice Nurse

Janet McBeath, Practice nurse works in the health centre treatment room from Monday – Thursday.

Nursing staff provide all nursing care such as dressings, injections and blood tests and is also responsible for a wide variety of health promotion activities and chronic disease management.

 

Health Care Assistant

Lynsey McKie, Health Care Assistant, works in the health centre treatment room on Monday, Wednesday – Thursday mornings and Friday.

Community Midwife

The Midwives based at Thornhill Medical Practice are known as Upper Nithsdale Red Team Midwives.  They aim to give 24-hour care to pregnant women during their antenatal periods, during their labour and post-natally until care is taken over by the Health Visitor.

Health Visitor & Nursery Nurse

Mrs Gail R Bell is the Health Visitor and is available to give advice to parents of young children on all aspects of parenting eg feeding, behaviour, safety.  She will also advise other age groups on healthy lifestyles and what services are available locally to meet their needs.

Mrs Karen Williams is the Nursery Nurse.

Community Nurses

A District Nurse team is based at the Health Centre.
They organise nursing care for patients and provide support and advice for carers/families.  Their working hours are 8am-8pm.  Out of hours cover is available through NHS 24.
